  News and Notes

-The children that have mastered the multiplication facts are further ahead of those that are just starting to learn these math facts.

-The new Science book is awesome. About every two or three days there is an experiment.

-Your child is learning to be an excellent writer this year. All fourth graders are learning how to use the five steps of a good writer: prewrite, writing, edit, proofreading and publishing a finished piece. They are also learning to do prompt writing. All fourth graders will take a FCAT writing test in February 2013.  We are currently working on punctuation.

-Social Studies is moving along nicely, and it is centering on the geography of our lovely sunshine state, Florida.

-Progress Reports went home on Friday (9/14/12).  This is not the end of the grading period it is actually the middle. This progress report is just a snapshot of how your child is doing in fourth grade up to this point.
