Students need to bring in paper and pencil from home. We have been providing this for the students since October, and due to financial constraints, we will no longer be able to do this.
There
are twenty-one instructional days until the writing test. The third nine weeks
is challenging. Most of the FCAT
materials are being presented during this nine weeks. It is very important for your child to be
here ever day in order to be exposed to FCAT materials.
Report cards go home tomorrow and should be
reviewed and the bottom portion returned as soon as possible.
The math focus for the next two weeks will be
topic fourteen in the Envisions book. This chapter is on fractions, decimals
and percent. Twenty percent of the FCAT will be on this subject. We will also cover area and review equivalent
fractions. Your child must know the
multiplication facts to master the FCAT.
It takes about ten minutes a day to accomplish mastery of the
multiplication facts.
As parents we know
a good foundation in elementary school will take your child far in life. Please set the stage for a successful future
for your child by spending time with your child helping them learn the
multiplication facts and doing nightly homework.
All homework assigned is assigned to help prepare your child to
pass the FCAT. Summer
school will be offered for those students that do not master the fourth grade
standards.
All
of the students now have
an IXL login name and a password. Your child should go on IXL daily in order to
master fourth grade skills. The children
were told to copy down the benchmark areas they are low in and work on these
areas only. There are only forty-seven
instructional days left before the FCAT.
